Welcome to the Cardiff Branch Homepage

The Cardiff Branch was formed in 1992 and serves South Wales to the marches.

Lectures are currently held at the British Airways Maintenance facility at Cardiff Wales Airport and occasionally at University of Glamorgan, Ponypridd, during the 'winter' season.

As part of the Centenary of Powered Flight celebrations, the branch inaugrated an annual 'Named' lecture to be known as the "Ernest Willows Lecture", after a noted airship designer who was based in and around Cardiff in the early 1900's Click here for biography His exploits are also remembered elsewhere, and a commemorative clock (see right) is to be found at Cardiffs' Mermaid Quay, which features an airship that 'orbits' the clock face. There is a descriptive text on a plaque below it. Click here for plaque details
